Description

Cefn Ceido Farmhouse is a Georgian three-bay house that stands two storeys tall, with an attic and basement. It features roughcast walls and a hipped slate roof with swept eaves supported by a billeted cornice. There are two external stacks: a brick stack on the right with a tall roughcast shaft and a stone stack on the left, both resting on broader gablets. Behind the left-hand stack is a tall replacement blue-brick stack.

The front of the house is symmetrical, with a central entrance that has a fielded-panel door beneath an iron-framed overlight and panelled reveals, all sheltered by an added canopy on wooden brackets. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes with sills, and there is a cellar window on the right side. The left side wall is made of rubble stone, while the rear is primarily rubble stone, except for the rebuilt left side, which is roughcast. A tall central stair window with a stone segmental head has replacement small-pane glazing. To the right of this window is a blocked segmental-headed window, an inserted four-pane sash window beneath a concrete lintel, and a replaced small-pane casement in the upper right. To the left of the stair window are four-pane sash windows on each storey. The rear roof slope has an inserted skylight.

Attached to the right side of the rear is a lower two-storey wing made of rubble stone, topped with an asbestos-slate roof and featuring a 20th-century brick end stack. On the left side of this wing is a replacement door in an outshut against the rear wall of the house, with enlarged windows on the right side of the wing.

Inside, the house is centrally planned with a full-height dog-leg stair that has turned balusters and a wreathed handrail.
