Description

Tyncoed is a Georgian house featuring two storeys, an attic, and a basement. It has brick walls with some areas of roughcast, a hipped slate roof, a brick stack on the right, and a rebuilt brick stack on the left. The front of the house is symmetrical with five bays, showcasing a central boarded door beneath a gabled wooden canopy. There is a plat band between the storeys. The windows, which are under segmental heads, consist of 19th-century horned and hornless 12-pane sashes in their original openings. The front roof slope includes three inserted skylights. On the left side, there is a segmental-headed basement window, and a single segmental-headed 12-pane hornless sash window is located in the upper left, along with an added lean-to brick ty bach. The right side wall features 12-pane horned sash windows on each storey.

Attached to the right side wall is a late 19th-century one-and-a-half-storey rear wing made of brick with a slate roof. This wing has a replaced door on the left and features 3-light and 2-light casement windows under segmental heads. The rear of the main house includes a central replaced stair window with a wooden lintel. In the upper storey, there are two small inserted windows on the right side. The lower storey has a central replaced door, with the outline of a former rear porch visible in the wall, and a 2-light segmental-headed window to the right, positioned under the segmental head of a larger earlier window. The rear roof slope also has a single inserted skylight.

The house is designed with a double-depth layout and features a centrally planned interior. It includes a wide, full-height open-well staircase with square newels and turned balusters, and most rooms retain their original fielded panel doors.
