Description

Ochr y Gop Farmhouse is a Georgian two-storey, five-bay house situated on a sloping hillside. The walls are constructed of rubble stone, and the roof features a double-pitched slate design with end stacks made of scribed roughcast over brick at each gable. On the left side of the front, there are remnants of pebble-dash and roughcast rusticated pilasters, likely added in the late 19th century. A garden wall is attached to the left end of the house.

Inside, there is a central gabled porch with pebble-dashed walls, which contains a boarded door topped by a two-pane overlight. Above the door is a replaced window. The other windows, all situated beneath wooden lintels, are small-pane horned sashes with stone sills, except for the lower right window that has a brick sill. The left end wall features a late 19th-century small-pane casement window at the lower left beneath the front gable. The rear gable has two windows with late 19th-century four-pane sashes. In the right end wall, beneath the late 19th-century rear gable, there is a boarded door to the left, with four-pane sash windows above it and to the right. The two-window rear has openings offset to the left side, which include four-pane sashes and a boarded door at the lower left.

On the right side of the rear, there is a lower gabled bakehouse that features an exceptionally large and tall external stone stack. The bakehouse has a boarded stable door on the left side and a centrally placed boarded loft door that is accessed from the higher yard at the back of the house. The opposite side wall of the bakehouse has a continuous outshut that projects in front of the left side wall of the main house, where a casement window has been inserted into an earlier, wider opening.
