Description

Faenol Fach is a 2-storey, 3-bay house built in the Georgian style, constructed from rubble stone with larger quoins. It features a hipped slate roof with projecting boarded eaves and brick stacks located at both the right and left sides. The openings are adorned with flat stone arches, and the windows on the lower storey are 12-pane sashes, while those on the upper storey are 9-pane sashes. The original windows have hornless sashes, while the replacements have horned sashes.

The entrance elevation faces west towards the church and includes a prominent central storeyed porch with a plain pediment. This porch has a doorway that features a moulded stone cornice supported by fluted stone consoles and a fielded-panel door. Small casement windows are located in the side walls of the porch. The right-hand bay of the house contains blind windows, while the left-hand bay has renewed sashes.

On the right side wall, there is an added single-storey projecting bay at the lower left, which includes a large 4-pane tripartite sash window beneath a stone lintel. The left side wall has a renewed sash window in the upper left, a blind window in the upper right, and an inserted window in the lower left. At the rear, there is a continuous single-storey lean-to with a hipped roof, which has a replaced window above and a small inserted window to the right.

Inside, the porch leads into an entrance hall, where a straight stair with winders at the base can be found on the left side. The stair features plain balusters and a wreathed handrail. The windows in the hall mostly retain their original panelled shutters. Stone steps descend to a cellar, which has an inscription on the plastered wall reading 'H Evans 1842'.
