Description

Frondeg is a late Georgian-style house featuring three bays and two storeys with an attic, built with rubble stone and topped with a double-span slate roof and end brick stacks. The symmetrical front of the house includes a central entrance accessed by steep stone steps. The doorway has a panelled door beneath a broad fanlight, flanked by sidelights, all set within a moulded surround. The outer bays are adorned with canted bay windows that sit under brick relieving arches and incorporate 12-pane hornless sash windows. On the upper storey, there are 12-pane sash windows under wooden lintels.

The right side wall has a similar sash window under a wooden lintel, offset to the right of centre on each storey. The left side mirrors this, but also features an inserted upper-storey window to the right of centre. At the rear, there are small-pane sash windows under wooden lintels on the upper right and left. The lower-storey windows have been replaced in earlier openings and feature segmental-headed stone lintels. Centrally located at the rear is a lower two-storey gabled projection finished in scribed roughcast. This projection has mostly replaced windows, with the upper storey windows set above the eaves under gablets, but it retains an original sash window on the upper left side.

Inside, the entrance hall features a round arch leading to the stairs at the rear. The open-well staircase has turned newels, plain balusters, and moulded tread ends. The house retains panelled doors and panelled shutters throughout.
