Description

The Rectory is a late Georgian house with three bays, two storeys, and an attic. It features a front made of scribed stucco and has a renewed slate roof with moulded eaves. The house includes early 20th-century brick stacks at each end. The central entrance is located within a hipped veranda that has a fish-scale tile roof supported by wooden posts, and this veranda is integrated with the canted bay windows on the outer bays, which contain 2-light small-pane windows. The doorway has a moulded surround and a panelled reveal leading to a half-lit panelled door.

On the upper storey, there are segmental-headed windows, with tripartite small-pane hornless sashes in the outer bays and a 16-pane sash window in the centre. The left gable end has an external stack positioned to the right of centre, reduced below the eaves and modified to form an apex stack. To the left of this stack are a pair of 12-pane horned sash windows. There is also an inserted window in the upper left, and the attic features a small window that has replaced an earlier opening on the left side.

At the rear, the house faces a small walled yard. A central segmental-headed horned sash stair is positioned in the middle, with a lower rear wing to the left. This wing has two hornless sash windows in the upper storey of its gable end. The east side wall of the wing has a single window that has replaced an earlier segmental-headed opening, along with a small-pane sash window to its left. The right gable end of the main range has an added late 19th-century canted bay window with a 4-pane sash, above which is a small-pane hornless sash window.

Internally, the house is arranged around a central stair hall, with principal rooms on the right and left divided by thick partition walls. These walls have panelled reveals for the doorways and panelled doors. The windows in the principal rooms also retain panelled shutters. The hall features a disc and corbelled plaster frieze. The dog-leg stair has balusters that are concealed behind boards, while the attic stair has plain balusters and newels. The attic rooms are equipped with boarded doors.
