Description
This is a multi-purpose farm building located at Cefn Cyfrifol, dating from the late 19th century. It features a long lofted range with a gable end facing the road. The southern side and western gable end are constructed of shaley rubble, while the northern side has weather-boarding above a high stone plinth, all covered by an old slate roof. Some of the weather-boarding on the northern side is in poor condition, exposing timber-framing underneath.
On the right side of the weather-boarding, there is a cart-bay with a small window above it. To the left, the view is blocked by a farm building built around 2000. The western gable end has external stone stairs leading up to a loft doorway, which features a segmental brick head with a keystone and hoodmould; the door itself has been replaced with chipboard. Above the doorway is a square slate tablet inscribed with 'Sir WWW bart. 1890' within a decorative border.
The southern side of the building has two doorways, both with segmental brick heads. The central doorway, which has a chipboard door, is likely the rear winnowing doorway of the barn, while the right side has split doors. There is also a former loft hatch on the left that has been infilled with stone. The interior was not seen during the resurvey.
