Description

The farm buildings at the northeast angle of the yard at Cwrt Bryn y Beirdd date from the 19th century and consist of a barn on the east side with a lofted cartshed facing north, away from the yard. There is also a later 19th-century lofted lower range on the north side, extending west from the end wall of the cartshed. The buildings are constructed from rubble stone with slate roofs, which are hipped at the outside northeast corner.

The barn features a tall barn door with a cambered yellow brick head. To the left of this door, there are outside steps leading to a loft door located in a short return on the rear wall of the cartshed loft. Adjacent to the steps is a monopitch-roofed stone shed. The north facade of the cartshed has stone roof slates and includes two first-floor cross-windows with timber lintels, as well as a ground floor arcade with three brick cambered-headed entries, the leftmost of which is blocked.

The later 19th-century lower range extends to the west and is built from red sandstone rubble. Its front facing the yard has three ground floor openings with brick heads, including two windows and a door to the left. On the first floor, there are two-light shuttered openings located under the eaves at the extreme right and left of the center. The end and rear walls of this range are blank.
