Description
This house at 27 Hamilton Terrace dates from around 1800 and features a roughcast exterior with a slate roof and rendered end stacks. It is three stories tall and has three windows across the front. The windows have altered sashes set in raised stucco surrounds. The first floor has plate glass sashes that have replaced the original 12-pane sashes, while the upper floor features one similar window in the center and later 20th-century windows on either side.
On the ground floor, there is a large fixed plate glass shop window on the left with a bracketed fascia, a central 20th-century door in a plain surround, and a plate glass sash window on the right. The house has a gabled northwest rear wing and a door located in the west gable end.
Inside, the original staircase remains intact, featuring thin column newels and a ramped handrail.
