Description

The war memorial on Powell Street is a Grade II listed structure made of bronze. It is a replica of the seal of the Calvanistic Methodist connexion, featuring a winged figure of Victory standing with one leg on a globe that is inscribed with the names of those who fell in the First World War. The memorial is set on a marble plinth that includes a tablet commemorating the Second World War, and it rests on a slate platform.

Surrounding the memorial is a low stone wall enclosure with fleur-de-lys iron railings, complemented by a masonry pillar topped with an urn finial.
