Description
Westminster House is a two-storey and basement town house dating from the Georgian period. It was originally the home of the Pugh family of Henblas. The house is constructed of coursed rubble, without a stucco rendering, and has a slate roof with wide bracket eaves and brick chimney stacks. It features nine and twelve-pane sash windows with voussoir lintels. A robust Ionic porch with a plain entablature, egg and dart cornice, and a high ornamental parapet bearing the painted lettering "Westminster" provides access. The porch has panelled reveals and half-glazed doors with a traceried fanlight. Basement windows are also sash windows. The left gable end is slate hung. Interior Regency detailing has been retained in the staircase and entrance hall, which includes an arch on paired columns and a stained glass window to the rear.
