Description

This milestone is located at the roadside southeast of the Montgomeryshire Canal. It is a tapered limestone pillar topped with a gabled design. The pillar features incised lettering that has been crudely overpainted, which reads "Miles PooL 6/Oswestry 9". This milestone is part of a series of mile markers that were likely erected after the first Montgomeryshire Turnpike Act of 1756.
