Description
Dragon Bridge is a 19th-century structure featuring splayed abutments that end in rectangular piers, which are battered in section. The bridge is constructed from gritstone, with square chamfered copings that are flat on top, creating a carriageway that is 4.58 meters wide. The bridge is faced in red sandstone. It has an arch that spans the narrowed canal, measuring 3.5 meters, and the towpath, which is 2 meters wide. The arch is made of red brick and has a chamfered side on the towpath that measures 125 millimeters. There are weep holes located in the abutment under the arch. The canal is revetted with red sandstone beneath the bridge. An oval cast identity plate is present, and the wall of the parapet continues around the corner, following the lane to Wern Mill.
