Description
The canal outbuildings located to the east of the Lengthsman's House at Burgedin Locks date from around 1820 and were renovated around 1880. The first outbuilding is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with a gable stack. On the south side, there is a central boarded door and no windows. Attached to this building is a pig-sty made of semi-engineering brick, which forms a small enclosure on the east side and stands 1.8 meters high.
The second outbuilding, situated immediately to the south, serves as a storeroom or tollhouse. It is also made of red brick and is raised by eight courses of semi-engineering brick. This building has a slate roof with clay ridges and a chimney stack on the west gable. There is a door at the south end of the east wall, but no windows are present.
