Description

This is a tapered limestone milestone located at the roadside northwest of Wernfield House. It features a gabled top and has incised lettering that has been crudely overpainted, reading "Miles PooL 5/Oswestry 10". This milestone is part of a series likely erected after the first Montgomeryshire Turnpike Act of 1756, which established the road from Pool to Wrexham.
