Description
Gwaentrebeddau is a two-storey building made of rendered concrete, featuring a slate roof and Gothic detailing. It has integral lean-tos on the left and at the rear. The front of the building has four windows, with angle pilaster strips, a plat band, and moulded architraves. The windows include concrete mullions with round-headed lights, consisting of four lights in the lower storey and three lights in the upper storey, with a two-light window above the porch. Each window has an iron framed casement. The porch is located to the right of centre and features a pointed arch on moulded capitals. There are axial stacks to the left of centre and to the right, made of concrete but rebuilt in brick. The gable lean-to has a 20th-century casement in its lateral wall. The rear elevation has similar windows to the front but with simpler architraves.
Inside, the building was originally divided into a farmhouse and servants' quarters, with the servants' quarters occupying the unit on the left with lean-tos. All internal partition walls are made of concrete, and the ground floor is said to be laid with concrete slabs. The roof consists of cast iron rafters and concrete slabs, covered with slates. The main house features a central stair hall with a straight concrete stair that has a handrail moulded into the wall. There are two units in the lower storey. In the servants' quarters on the left, there is a timber spine beam with exposed joists, from which steel bars with meat hooks are suspended. The gable lean-to contains a timber stair and concrete steps leading to a barrel-vaulted cellar made of concrete.
