Description
Church Cottage is an early 18th century, three-unit lobby entry house that stands one and a half storeys tall. It features a timber frame constructed in square panels and is topped with a slate roof. There is an axial brick stack located to the left of the center. The cottage has two dormers with quatrefoils in the gables and enlarged windows. In the lower storey, three three-light windows have been inserted into the original openings. The doorways are located to the left of the center and are accessed through a late 19th century porch. The front door is studded and adorned with ornate strap hinges that have scrolled ends. On the left elevation, there is a single three-light window that has been inserted into an original opening in the lower storey. The rear elevation features a dormer on the right with a two-light window, along with a roughcast lean-to that has a slate roof. The property was not accessible at the time of inspection in July-August 1996.
