Description
Hollybush Cottage is a two-unit lobby entry house dating from the 19th century. It features a gable end stack and stands one-and-a-half storeys tall, constructed with timber framing in square panels filled with brick nogging, which is painted white, and rests on a rubble stone plinth. The slate roof, which was renewed in the late 20th century, has end brick stacks.
The front of the cottage has two windows and a doorway to the right. The dormers have cusped barge boards and 2-light iron-frame casements with small panes. There is a similar window in an earlier opening to the left on the lower storey, while the right side has an enlarged casement window. The doorway to the right features a modern door within an earlier opening, and there is a 19th-century timber-framed porch with barge boards that match the dormers.
The right side wall is made of rubble stone and painted white, while the left side has a single-storey brick lean-to, also painted white. The rear of the cottage has two windows and a centrally-placed boarded door, with a wood-framed casement window to the left and a similar casement to the right, both resembling those at the front. The dormers at the rear are also similar to those at the front.
