Description
Upper Cable House is a two-storey building with an attic, designed in a rustic Gothic style. The lower storey features rock-faced, snecked Cefn stone, while the upper storey is constructed of timber framing with square panels and white brick nogging. A moulded string course runs beneath the timber framing. The hipped slate roof rises to a flat apex, adorned with wrought iron brattishing, and includes two tiers of gabled roof dormers.
In the upper storey, diagonal braces in the outer panels create saltire crosses. On the west side, which slopes down, there is a three-window range with two-light casements in the upper storey, while the rear elevation is similar but has single casements in the side walls. The lower storey features two cross-windows at the front, each beneath cambered lintels. Below each window, within a shallow projecting plinth, are slots for cables, although these have been bricked up to the right.
The left side wall has a boarded door with iron studs and decorative fake strap hinges. At plinth level in the front, there are two bays of coursed stone that continue as a retaining wall on the left side. The building was not inspected in November 1996.
