Description
Maes-y-Gerddi is a 2-storey building designed in a simple Picturesque vernacular style. The main section of the building runs north-south, with a gabled section projecting to the west on the north side. The ground floor is rendered, while the exposed stonework around the windows and door is made of Anglesey limestone. The first floor is hung with slate, and the building features a slate roof with deep overhanging verges.
On the front (west) elevation, there are two timber cross-windows with glazing bars set in quoined surrounds, each with slate cills on the ground floor of the gable. Above, there are three 2-light casements, with the center window featuring an overlight that creates a stepped effect. The main range includes three windows with transoms, which consist of side-hung casements with four panes below and six fixed panes above. These are positioned to the right of a 6-panel door, where the upper panels are glazed and situated under a lean-to canopy at the angle with the gable. There is a 2-light window with a lean-to roof just breaking the eaves above the entrance, along with another 2-light window in a gabled dormer to the right.
The building has an integral end stack on the right and a ridge stack on the left at the junction with the gable, both featuring paired diagonal purple brick shafts. Additionally, there is a further stack with three diagonal shafts located behind the latter.
The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
