Description
The garden walls and attached structures form a terraced flower garden, constructed of red brick and enclosing a roughly rectangular area of approximately 90 meters by 50 meters. The walls are aligned from north-west to south-east and feature a low parapeted stone retaining wall that creates a ha-ha effect on the south-west side, overlooking a bog garden. The main garden consists of two levels: the upper level is very formal, featuring three pools, regular flower beds, and a central loggia built in the 1920s or 1930s against the north-east wall. The lower level is a wide, sloping lawn planted with trees and shrubs. The main entrance to the garden is through a 20th-century decorative iron gate located near the east corner, with two additional entrances in the north-east wall north of the loggia and one in the north-west wall. Steps connect the upper and lower terraces at each end and in the center, with further steps leading from the middle of the lower terrace down into the bog garden. There is also a lean-to tool store attached to the external face of the north-east wall.
