Description
Arfryn is a 2-storey building in the Classical style, featuring a main range that is partly double-depth and aligned north-south. It is constructed using a mix of uncoursed and regularly coursed pink sandstone blocks, with dressed ashlar quoins. The uncoursed stonework was likely originally rendered, and the building has a shallow-pitched hipped slate roof.
The west elevation is mostly filled with irregularly spaced sash windows of various sizes, some of which are horned, all set in quoined surrounds on both floors. There are entrances located to the left, where the building slightly projects, and to the far right, which features fully glazed double doors with a decorative overlight. The roof has three ridge stacks, with the center stack rendered and the outer stacks made of purple brick. Additional sash windows are present on each floor of the right return and on the south wall of the double-depth section. The rear (east) elevation includes 12- and 16-paned 2-light casements, as well as one 18-paned 3-light casement window.
The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
