Description

Brook House is a one-and-a-half storey house built in the mid-19th century, likely as part of the Leighton estate. It is constructed of rubble stone at ground floor level, with timber framing above. The roof is slate-covered. The house has a main range and a cross wing, with the main range comprising two units and featuring an axial stack. The cross wing is located to the left and has a gable end with its own axial stack. A doorway is situated in the angle where the main range and wing meet. Details throughout the house are consistent with the Leighton estate’s style, including small-paned windows and decorative bargeboards. A later extension was added in approximately 1996, situated beyond the cross wing. The property was not accessible for examination during a recent survey.
