Description
The gatepiers and gates to the forecourt at Erddig are a pair of Neoclassical square section sandstone piers. Each pier features a moulded plinth and has a panel on the faces facing the drive that includes a carving of a cornucopia and ribbon drop. Above this, there is a ribbed frieze and a moulded cap with an inset panel decorated with a festoon and a flat top. Attached to the piers are railings and gates that have a simple design, complete with spearhead finials.
