Description
This building is a sawmill, constructed in a simple classical style with red brick and a hipped slate roof over the yard, featuring a dentil eaves cornice. It has an irregular U-shaped plan. The elevation facing the yard includes an off-centre archway that leads to a limeyard at the back. To the left of the archway are two Diocletian windows, while to the right is a large opening with boarded doors and another Diocletian window next to it. The upper floor is fitted with five casement windows. At the rear, there are two gabled ranges attached to either side of the archway, with the right side showing remnants of pigsties in the end wall. Inside, the sawmill contains a steam engine dating from around 1860 and a boiler that was brought to the site in 1935.
