Description
The saw mill, now disused, dates from the late 19th century and has had some minor later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick with slate and corrugated iron roofs and is a single-storey building. The main block features a catslide outshut to the rear on the right and a lower range attached to the right side, with a chimney located at the angle between the outshut and the lower range. The main range has boarded doors to the left and center, along with four roof lights. The chimney is square in section, tapering towards the top, and has a stepped base with yellow brick lozenge patterns on the sides and a corbelled capping. Although a full inspection of the interior was not possible during the resurvey in February 1987, it was noted that the main range has a king-post roof, along with surviving machinery and a saw-pit. Additionally, a narrow-gauge railway track curves away from the mill to the northeast before turning northwest and eventually disappearing.
