Description

The Smithy at Whitehurst Gate is a Grade II listed building made of stone with a slated roof and stone stacks. It consists of two storeys and features two abutting 'L'-shaped buildings that present their left gables to the main road. The more westerly building has a door and a dormer window above, both adorned with cut bargeboards, and gable stacks. The easterly building is set lower and includes the smithy within its eastern arm. Modern stained timber windows are present in the wings. The smithy has an open front facing the B5605, featuring a segmental arch with a keystone inscribed "1825 Davies," which is now glazed.
