Description

This is a red brick terrace wall, likely dating from the early 19th century, forming part of Whitehurst Gardens. Originally, it followed the curving line of the upper terrace wall, but the southern section now serves as a property boundary and backs onto a range of former bothies, which have been converted into dwellings. The wall is constructed of red brick, incorporating regularly spaced pilaster buttresses approximately 33cm wide. One section has been rebuilt using a harder, more durable red brick.
