Description

The lowest terrace wall at Whitehurst Gardens is a Grade II listed structure made of red brick and stands approximately 3.5 meters high. It features regular 33-centimeter pilaster buttresses and is located within the gardens. The top seven courses of the wall have been rebuilt and are topped with a flat stone coping. The wall follows the curved line of the two higher terrace walls and connects at its southwest end to Queen Anne's Cottage. The eastern end of the wall was altered in 1931 to allow for the road leading to the colliery housing.
