Description
Drumore is a two-storey building constructed of rubble stonework and topped with a slate roof. It features three bays and a lobby entry plan, with a rear wing that is likely from the same period. The main entrance consists of a 17th-century boarded and studded central door, set within a staff-moulded frame and topped by a half-brick relieving arch. On both floors, there are three-light chamfered mullioned windows in the bays on either side of the entrance, and a two-light window above the door. All windows are fitted with diagonal lead glazing. A dairy with a lowered floor has been added as a lean-to at the back of the northern bay, and all three gable ends of the building are blind.
Inside, the front door opens towards the axial stack. The room to the left features two deeply chamfered cross beams with bold ogee stops and reattached 17th-century panelling on the end wall. The fireplace in this room has a deep fire lintel, although the soffit has been cut away, and the interior was remodeled in the 20th century, leaving an imprint for a fire crane. The corresponding room at the northern end, now used as a parlour, has plastered cross beams and a later fireplace in its original position. The kitchen located in the rear wing contains one cross ceiling beam and a dog-leg stair, enclosed by a timber-framed partition with wattle and daub infill on the upper level. A secondary stair was likely added in the early 19th century when the house was subdivided.
