Description
Low Gaterley Smithy is a smithy built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed limestone and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has three bays and a single storey, with double doors beneath a massive timber lintel and a blocked window with a keyed wedge lintel to the right. There is an outshut at the extreme right and a stepped eaves course. The roof is hipped, and there is a stack at the right eaves. Inside, there is a brick-built forge with a fire hood. The smithy is included for its group value.
