Description
Low Gaterley Stables and Hayloft are stables with a hayloft above, built in the mid to late 18th century. The structure is made of hammer-dressed limestone and has a Welsh slate roof. It features five bays and two storeys, with three openings on the first floor. There are three stable doors, each with a window to the left, although two of these windows are blocked, leaving only a two-light Yorkshire sash window at the extreme left. The first floor has 10-pane fixed windows with slatted openings below. The gable has coping, and there are stone stairs on the right gable end that lead to the hayloft, with a round-arched dog kennel built in beneath. An adjacent range to the left is not of special interest. The stables are included for their group value.
