Description

This is a long, lofted six-bay multi-purpose farm building at Top y Fron Farm, constructed of brick and topped with a renewed slate roof featuring raised brick copings and kneelers. The cow-house may have originally included doorways with cambered brick heads, but some openings have been altered.

On the left side, there are two metal windows with opening ventilators and concrete lintels; the second window from the left is under a cambered brick head with a second brick arch above it. Slightly left of center, there is a raised opening with a flat brick head that is now blocked with brick. To the right, there is a wide entrance with a sliding door, followed by a pair of narrow doorways with segmental brick heads. A metal window is located at the far right, along with another narrow doorway. The ground floor features ventilation slits, mostly infilled with brick.

The loft has six openings, including boarded hatches at the far left and the third and fourth from the left, while the remaining openings are full-height doorways. There are diamond breather holes beneath the eaves. The south gable has three ventilation slits and an iron tie plate at the apex. The rear and north gable end were not visible at the time of the survey. The interior was also not seen during the survey.
