Description
Turnpike Cottage is a stone and rendered building with a slate roof, constructed in the 20th century. It is a single-storey, T-plan structure, featuring a front that extends centrally to a canted end with windows on each face beneath a hipped roof. The original part of the cottage has two-light cast iron windows with a diamond pattern and margin glazing, including windows on the gable ends, each adorned with a label moulding. One of these windows has been replaced by a half-glazed door. On the side facing the main road, there is a small canted bay window with a hipped roof designed to overlook the road. The cottage has a central stack. At the rear, the building has been extended in the 20th century, which includes the main entrance door and a canted end, featuring similar patterned windows created with applied leads.
