Description
Pont Felin-y-ffridd is a bridge built of rubble stone. It features two low arches and a secondary flood arch that rises from two water piers. The main arches are made of regular grey slate stone voussoirs, set back under a regulating course, and they span onto a central water pier that has cutwaters both upstream and downstream. These cutwaters are stepped back to create flush spandrels and a parapet. Each of the main arches spans approximately 7.95 meters and supports a carriageway that is 4.35 meters wide, with parapets that are 55 centimeters wide, finished with packed stone-on-edge copings. The secondary arch is lower and constructed similarly. Notably, the upstream cutwater on the main water pier has been replaced with concrete, and the bridge has been reinforced with eight tie bars and iron compression plates.
