Description
Nos 1 - 6 Pen-y-bont Cottages are a row of six 2-storey cottages located in the Corris Community. The cottages vary in form and width and are slightly angled at the center, with the eastern pair, Nos 5 and 6, stepping up slightly due to a rise in the land. They are constructed of stone and pebbledash, featuring painted margins around many of the window and door openings, as well as a painted plinth. The doors are generally boarded, and the windows are either casement or sash. The cottages have slate roofs with red tile ridges and feature stone and blue-brick chimney stacks, along with low forecourt walls.
The row consists of two bays, extending into an additional bay that was formerly a separate cottage to the west. The two eastern bays are approximately symmetrical, each with a central boarded door and 4-pane horned sash windows, along with sliding sash windows on the first floor. The additional bay has a former door that has been converted into a window, a 4-pane sash window, and a small-paned window on the upper floor. There is a dark brick stack and a stone stack on the western party wall.
