Description
Penrhyn-Dyfi is a tall house constructed of pebbledashed and painted stone, topped with a slate roof. It has three storeys and a double pile plan featuring three window bays at the front, with a symmetrical south-facing aspect centered around the entrance. The entrance consists of a six-panelled part-glazed door set within a Tuscan portico made of sandstone. Flanking the entrance are 4-light paned windows located in openings with cambered heads. On the upper floors, there are 12-paned unhorned sash windows set deep within the openings. The house features a modillion eaves cornice that returns a short distance on both gable ends, creating an open pediment on each gable alongside the raking cornices. Sash windows are present on all three floors, positioned on either side of a part-external chimney stack. At the western end, there is a two-storey service wing aligned with the main structure, as well as a continuous lean-to at the rear.
Inside, the front entrance leads to a narrow hallway with quarry tiles, with reception rooms on either side and a dog-leg stair at the end, featuring balusters and a turned newel. The interior also includes six-panelled doors.
