Description

Nos 1-6 Pen-y-bont Cottages form a row of six two-storey cottages located within the Corris Community. The cottages, built of stone and rendered with pebbledash, display varying forms and widths and are slightly angled in the centre. The eastern pair, Nos 5 and 6, are stepped up to accommodate a rise in the ground. Painted margins highlight many window and door openings, with a painted plinth along the base. Most windows are casement or sash, and doors are generally boarded. The cottages have slate roofs with red tile ridges and stone and blue-brick stacks. Low forecourt walls are present.

No 6 is a pair with No 5 at the eastern end of the row and is set slightly higher, potentially indicating it is somewhat earlier in date. No 6 occupies two bays, with the entrance on the left sharing a wide opening with No 5. A boarded door is within a stop-chamfered frame. The ground floor has a two-light paned timber window, and a similar but shorter window is located on the first floor, above the entrance. A similar window is also present in the gable end. The gable end features a blue-brick stack and smooth-rendered bands painted black to simulate timber framing.
