Description
The former Tremadog lock up, also known as Siop Crydd & Carchar, is a two-storey building constructed from large blocks of roughly squared quarried stone, arranged in regular courses. It features a slate roof, although some slates were missing at the time of inspection, and has stone stacks at both ends. The openings in the building have stone lintels. On the lower storey, there are two studded doors, while the upper storey contains an iron-barred window on the left side. The right gable end, where the ground level is higher, has stone and slate steps leading to a boarded door on the upper storey, positioned to the right of centre. The left gable end is attached to a later, modernised range at the rear of Ty Newydd.
