Description

This is a terrace of 1½-storey cottages located at 9-25 Dublin Street, Tremadog. The cottages are built of roughly coursed and squared quarried stone, with boulder footings to Nos 9 and 11, and have a slate roof and 5 stone stacks. Each cottage has a raked half dormer. No 9 is a two-window house featuring a half-glazed door on the left side. The windows throughout the terrace are replacements, but are set within original openings. Nos 11-25 are single-fronted and arranged in reflected pairs, with mostly 20th-century replacement doors and windows. Some of these windows are enlarged, while others remain in the original openings. No 11 has a small-pane horizontal-sliding sash window within its dormer. A lower doorway is now blocked between Nos 13 and 15. No 25 includes a two-window addition on its right side, topped with a skylight, followed by a single-storey addition called ‘Yr Efail’ which features modern detailing.

The rear of the terrace has been extensively altered and extended with modern detailing. These include a two-storey wing to the rear of No 9, outshuts to the rears of Nos 11 and 13, two-storey wings to the rears of Nos 15 and 17, two-storey flat-roofed extensions to the rears of Nos 19 and 21, an outshut to the rear of No 23, and a two-storey wing to the rear of No 25.
