Description
The Old Granary is a former coach house and granary dating back to the 18th century, constructed from coursed rubble stone with a slate roof. The northern gable end features a wide segmental arch made of freestone voussoirs, which has been infilled with glazing. Above this arch is a former doorway that has been converted into a window, with a pulley block situated above it.
On the lean-to aisles, the left doorway has been blocked and turned into a small window, while a replacement glazed door is located on the right. The eastern side wall has had several openings added during its conversion for domestic use, including a recessed door with a window to its left, a low raked roof dormer in the aisle, skylights in the main range, and a two-window extension at the left end. Similarly, the western side wall features modern openings, including two small windows set in deeper, partly blocked earlier openings, along with two skylights.
The southern gable end has a two-window arrangement with replacement windows beneath original timber lintels and a loft pitching eye. The interior has been modernised.
