7 Auchingramont Road And Adjoining Glen Cottage, Hamilton

7 Auchingramont Road and the adjoining Glen Cottage in Hamilton date from around 1835. The building features a two-storey, three-window polished ashlar front at number 7, with a central door that has a rectangular fanlight, a painted architrave, and a low pediment. It has a main cornice and a gabled roof with ashlar stacks. The original glazing is present only in the upper panes. To the northeast, there is a coursed rubble flank with one window. The rear has three windows, with a later central porch that is harled and designed to mimic half-timbering. There are two piended dormers and a central flat-roofed dormer. Glen Cottage, which is a lower two-storey and basement two-window piended wing, has a large modern addition. The roof is slated, with corniced rendered stacks and shaped ashlar at the gable. The property is also marked by two painted square corniced gatepiers and a low wall.
