Description
114 Cadzow Street in Hamilton is a building dating from around 1840. It is a late classical two-storey structure with a three-window front. The entrance features a central doorpiece with anta pilasters. The ground floor windows are corniced, and the plain architraves have moulded arrises, while the first-floor windows are also architraved. The building has an eaves cornice and a piended slated roof, which includes a corniced ashlar stack on the left side. Most of the original eight-pane glazing remains intact, except for the lower ground floor sashes. The gable is finished with painted stugged coursers. The building is set back within a front area that includes painted and chamfered square gatepiers and art nouveau railings.
