Description

The Hamilton District Council Computer Department, located at 115 Cadzow Street in Hamilton, is a single-storey, rectangular-plan building designed by Alexander Cullen in 1931. This former bank features classical detailing and is situated on a corner site. The building is constructed of channelled cream sandstone ashlar, with a rendered side and rear elevation. It has a deep black marble base course and window aprons, a corniced parapet, and a flat roof.

On the Cadzow Street elevation, there is an advanced moulded panel doorcase with a corniced parapet to the right, and to the left, a large tripartite window with metal frames set back in an ashlar panel. A similar single window is located at the splayed angle at the far left. The Auchingramont Road elevation features a window to the right.
