St Mary's Episcopal Church, Auchingramont Road, Hamilton

St Mary's Episcopal Church, located on Auchingramont Road in Hamilton, was designed by John Henderson from Edinburgh and built between 1846 and 1847 in the Decorated style. The church features a nave that is aisled only on the northwest side, consisting of five buttressed bays with tall two-light windows. There is a gabled porch with two orders of shafts located in the second bay from the left. The chancel is lower and unbuttressed, with one bay extended to two, also featuring two-light windows and curvilinear tracery throughout. The church has diagonal buttresses on the west and east sides, which are stepped, and a continuous moulded base course. The roofs are slated, steeply pitched, and include straight skews, gablet skewputts, and cross finials. Inside, there is an arcade supported by massive piers, a braced collar beam roof in the nave, and a pointed panelled ceiling in the chancel. A roodbeam is present, along with a delicately painted organ case.
