Description
The Royal Bank of Scotland, located at 162 Hyndland Road in Glasgow, was designed by architect James Mclachlan and completed in 1934. This two-storey, three-bay bank features a polished ashlar exterior with a polished black granite basecourse.
On the right side, there are double-leaf panelled doors topped by a glazed fanlight and a glazed acid-etched vestibule door. The central section has a tripartite window, while the left side has a single window. The first-floor windows are single light, all adorned with delicate glazing bars that include a large central pane surrounded by smaller panes. Between the windows, there are incised decorative frieze bands. The building is capped with a deep plain parapet. The west flank has two bays and is detailed similarly to the front, while the rear is constructed of coursed rubble.
