Description

David Hamilton circa 1840. Late classical 2-storey and

basement, polished ashlar street frontages of 3 windows.

Cadzow Street frontage has disengaged shallow open

porch with pair of Roman Doric columns and steps with

modern rail. Flanking shallow rectangular tripartites

with slim mullions set in anta pilasters, circled

parapets at both doorpiece and bays. Single-light

architraved windows at first floor, central wallhead

stack. Auchingramont Road elevation has central Roman

Doric pilastered doorpiece with circled parapet, all

windows single-light consoled with rosettes at frieze at

ground floor. Bracketted cornice both frontages, piended

roof, corniced ashlar stacks. South west elevation 3-

window, plain coursers with simple cornice. Single-

storey recessed wing with door and bipartite. Blocking

course and tall corniced stack. Interior spoilt.

4 square ashlar gatepiers with arched tops, original

arcaded railings.
