Description
57 Southesk Street in Brechin is a building dating from around 1840, with later alterations. It is two storeys high with an attic and features a three-window façade. The front is made of ashlar stone and has architraves, with a central bipartite window on the first floor. The entrance has an Ionic pilastered doorpiece and a panelled door. The original ground floor windows have been replaced with canted bay windows, which are topped with a close that has a scroll keystone lintel. The building has a slated gabled roof with two canted dormers. The straight skews were altered in the late 19th century, now featuring consoled and gabled skewputts. The chimneys have been rebuilt in brick.
