Anderson's Buildings, Main Street, Scalloway

Anderson's Buildings is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical terraced house located on Main Street in Scalloway. The exterior features lined render with painted ashlar dressings and an eaves course.

The south elevation facing Main Street is symmetrical, with a vertically-boarded timber door in the center bay, which includes a rectangular fanlight above. There are windows in the flanking bays and additional windows in the outer bays on the first floor.

At the rear (north elevation), there is a single-storey rubble lean-to addition with a shallow-pitched roof. The ground floor has four-pane timber fixed-lights, while the first floor features a blind window in the bay to the right and a 12-pane timber sash and case window to the left. The roof is covered with purple-grey slate, and there is a mutual skew-cope on the left side, along with granite mutual stacks that have circular cans. The rear elevation includes a harled and shouldered wallhead stack, and the rear addition has a single-flue brick wallhead stack.
