Post Office, Anderson's Buildings, Main Street, Scalloway

The Post Office, located in Anderson's Buildings on Main Street in Scalloway, is an early 19th-century, asymmetrical, two-storey, five-bay terraced shop with a flat above. The exterior features lined render with painted ashlar dressings and an eaves course.

On the south elevation facing Main Street, the building has an asymmetrical design with a three-bay shop on the right. The central bay contains a door, while the outer bays feature windows on both the ground and first floors. To the left, there is a keystoned segmental-arched former pend opening with a window above in the penultimate bay. The outer left bay has a door with a rectangular fanlight at ground level.

The north elevation at the rear includes a flat-roofed rubble extension. The building has modern glazing throughout, a purple-grey slate roof, and a granite mutual stack with circular cans on the west side.
